Bill

My name is Bill Walton, sometimes also known as Captain Birds Eye!  I am 68, retired and married to my long-suffering but very lovely wife, Ann.

My hobbies are Classic Car’s (I have a 1959 TR3A lovingly named ‘Bumble’) sailing, skiing, delivering boats, a bit of gardening and when all that leaves time, some DIY.

I joined the RNLI in 1998 as a Sea Check Co-ordinator and became a Life Boat Station Sea Safety Officer in 2006 for Newhaven and Brighton Lifeboat Stations.  I have an excellent team of six Sea Safety Advisors.

Newhaven Lifeboat has a Severn Class all weather Lifeboat and Brighton an Atlantic 21 inshore Lifeboat. To read more about these fantastic lifeboats visit the RNLI sites by clicking on the links below right.

Dave

Hi , I’m Dave, and I’m wondering how I got involved in a three week bus ride! I think I agreed to it after too much wine!

I am 62 years old, retired and fill my time between trips in our motorhome, with DIY,  gardening, some charity work, grandchildren/family and like Bill I own a classic car (an MGB roadster).

I live in the land-locked County of Wiltshire but am still passionate about supporting the RNLI. My limited use of the sea includes Cross Channel Ferries, trips to the beach with the grandchildren and I eat fish!!
